Bracken Court Hotel Revolutionises Service with VoCoVo Communication System
Bracken Court Hotel, part of the Moriarty Group, is known for its exceptional customer service and modern facilities, making it one of the top choices for guests in Balbriggan, Co. Dublin. With 66 rooms, a restaurant, a bar, and a range of conference services, the hotel offers a welcoming atmosphere. As part of the hotel’s ongoing commitment to improving guest experiences and operational efficiency, Bracken Court introduced VoCoVo communication headsets, resulting in a significant improvement in both kitchen-to-floor communication and overall service.
Before the introduction of VoCoVo, communication between kitchen staff, floor staff, and management often relied on manual systems, including bells or running messages back and forth. This process, while functional, led to delays and inefficiencies, particularly during busy service times. Recognising the need for faster, more efficient communication, Bracken Court Hotel decided to implement VoCoVo, a wireless communication system designed to streamline operations in fast-paced environments like hotels and restaurants.
“The VoCoVo system has really improved our communication, especially in the kitchen,” says Yvonne Moriarty, Hotel Operations Director at the Moriarty Group. “There’s no more waiting for someone to run back to the kitchen to find out if a dish is delayed. Chefs can let the team know instantly via their headsets, which has really sped things up. It’s made a big difference in how we serve our guests, and we’re excited to keep learning and expanding its use.”
The VoCoVo headsets allow kitchen and floor staff to communicate instantly, sharing updates on stock availability, order delays, and any special guest requirements in real-time. For example, when a particular dish runs out (such as their popular lamb shank), kitchen staff can immediately inform servers via the headsets, allowing them to proactively manage customer expectations without waiting for a server to return to the kitchen.
The system is not just about improving kitchen-to-floor communication; it also enhances overall operational efficiency. VoCoVo helps staff respond faster to guest needs, reduces errors, and ensures a smoother dining experience. The installation of five headsets, with one plug-in, in key areas of the hotel’s ground floor and kitchen has allowed the hotel to significantly improve service speed and accuracy, particularly during peak times.
As a result of the success at Bracken Court Hotel, the Moriarty Group is considering expanding VoCoVo across its other properties. “It’s really made customer service more effective. The chefs can communicate directly through the headsets without waiting for the floor staff to come back, meaning our service delivery is much smoother.”
With plans to expand the VoCoVo system and integrate it further into daily operations, Bracken Court Hotel is positioning itself as a leader in operational efficiency and customer service. The addition of this communication tool has been a crucial step forward, ensuring that staff can collaborate more effectively and deliver the best possible experience to every guest.
