CBE Powers Seamless Fan Experience at Historic ‘Test in the West’ Rugby Clash
CBE were proud to play our part in a truly unforgettable event as Connacht Rugby, Mayo GAA, and Castlebar Mitchels GAA Club joined forces to bring professional rugby to the heart of the West of Ireland. ‘The Test in the West’ saw Connacht take on Munster in a landmark United Rugby Championship (URC) match held at MacHale Park—an iconic GAA venue reimagined for a day of thrilling sporting drama.
With over 27,000 passionate fans in attendance, the event made history as the first-ever professional rugby game at MacHale Park and the highest-attended rugby match ever held in Connacht. The electric atmosphere and strong community spirit showcased the incredible appetite for top-tier rugby in Mayo and the wider province.
Behind the scenes, over 40 CBE Mobile Order & Pay terminals helped keep the event running smoothly, providing a fast, reliable way for fans to order and pay for food and beverages. The handheld terminals, operated by venue staff throughout the grounds, ensured fast, efficient payments meaning supporters could stay fuelled and focused on the action unfolding on the pitch.
