Four Tuam Athletes were honoured upon their triumphant return from competing for Ireland in Grangemouth Scotland at the International Schools Championship against England, Scotland, and Wales, with a bursary cheque from CBE.
Tuam AC’s Matthew Newell, Danielle Moynihan, Savanagh O’Callaghan and Sarah Hartnett represented Ireland at the International Schools Championship on Saturday the 15th of July.
Savanagh and Matthew announced themselves on the international stage in emphatic fashion when they led Team Ireland to two victories. In front of a large crowd, their clubmates Danielle and Sarah also performed exceptionally, with Danielle winning a historic third international medal for Tuam as part of the 4x100m relay team, while Sarah showed maturity and resilience beyond her years to clock an outstanding 7th place in the 1500m Steeplechase.
